You need to undo the changes you made to your already filed return, and put your return back to the way it was when you filed your return.
Once you e-file a return, you cannot get it back, cancel it, or make any changes to it. You will have to wait until your return gets accepted or rejected to make any changes. Do not make any changes to your e-filed return, it will not go through. The IRS is not accepting returns until Feb. 12th, you will have to wait until then to see if your return is accepted or rejected.
If rejected, you can enter or change your information, then re-e-file.
If accepted, you would have to amend your return to make changes or add information.
Also, the Federal amended return (1040X), will not be available until around 3/25/21 (subject to change).

Once you have e-filed, you cannot modify your return as it would not reflect what has been sent to the IRS.
If you have already filed your return, you'll need to wait for your tax return to either be rejected or accepted, if it is rejected you can add your Form 1098-T, correct any other errors on the return and resubmit it.
If it is accepted, you will need to amend your return to include the 1098-T.
Please be aware that Form 1040X will not be available in TurboTax until February 18, 2021, but once it is available, you will be able to prepare and e-file your amended return.
Please see this TurboTax FAQ for instructions on how to amend your tax return in TurboTax.

you will need to amend because IRS will not add the 1098-T for you.
you will get the tuition and educations credits unless you are rich.
how you do that with TurboTax is another matter.
Always print a copy of the return you filed right away.
You need the original return to amend your return.

Do I need to file an amended tax return if i accidentally reported our recovery rebate credit? Or will the IRS do this for us? As I was re-reviewing our return, I realized that I should have reported $3600, not zero. I thought the form was asking if I needed to claim additional rebate credits? We filed on 2-12 and the return was accepted.
Thank you.

Wait until you receive your refund -- the IRS might make a correction automatically. Please see IRS Recovery Rebate Credit Q D2 What happens if I claim the incorrect amount? for additional information.

I just posted something similar..yet I filed an amended 2019 taxes with the missing 1098t form as it reduced what we owed and still showing it's not accepted yet they cashed my check. I am at a loss as I did this in June of 2020 and still waiting. They of course are still looking for the balance that they say I owe from my original efiled taxes. uuugggghhhhh

Sounds very frustrating. I'm not sure whether an amended return will help or add to the confusion. I've read that IRS routinely fixes this type of error (recovery rebate credit). Good luck with your situation.

Most returns are processed and the refunds deposited within the first three weeks after filing your return.
The state of Ohio is currently working on a change in their tax law that will exclude the income tax on the first $10,200 of unemployment benefits for people who qualify. Until that law is passed and implemented into TurboTax you will not be able to e-file the Ohio return.
When that change has been made to TurboTax, you will be able to e-file Ohio.
You can check the status of your federal refund at the IRS Where's My Refund? site.
