Amended Return

Using TurboTax Premier on Windows 11, latest updates on both.

I received my wife's HSA after E-filing. There is no change in the taxes, but I felt I needed to amend the return to show her distribution amount and that it was spent on medical items. Upon selecting File by Mail (because I have reached my E-File limit) and selecting the Continue button the software tells me I cannot E-File and tells me to go back to the preceding page and select File by Mail. It must be an error in the software.

Did you follow the instructions here to amend the return, or did you prepare a new return?

I cannot print the return to mail it. I feel the programmer did not take into consideration the specific set of unusual circumstances I have. This is on my own computer with Turbo Tax Premier 2021 installed on it.  The instructions you referred me to suggest it is possibly a problem with being on a different account.  That cannot be the problem because it is not online so I would not be in any account. As a former programmer myself I feel I am qualified to state there is a problem with this situation in the software.
