I am amending my 2018 return due to a 1098 that was not sent. I have 2 others that were sent and filed in my return accordingly.

My question is do I need to attach the missing (new) 1098 to the amended return?

Do I need to attach all 3 1098 forms (including the 2 accounted for during filing) ?

Do not attach documents that don't show federal tax withheld.

Do not attach documents already reported on your original return.

Attach new (or changed ) documents that show federal tax withheld.

how to file:

Do not include your old 1040 nor your revised 1040 because the Form 1040X reflects any changes there and becomes your new tax return.

Include any new/corrected document ( i.e. 1099-MISC) only if it shows federal tax withheld, and include in order only those Sequence Numbered tax forms and Schedules that changed or were added due to your amendment.
Attachment Sequence Number is on all the forms and Schedules that come after 1040.
Mail to the address shown for your location in the Instructions for Form 1040X.

In most cases, there is no withholding on a 1099-MISC.

Not sure if that wasn't clear but I am aware the 1040X is needed.

My question is, do I attach the 1098 form (these are from mortgage interest paid records)?
