Amend

I was an early filer before they changed the eic for this year's taxes so I recieved my cp09 form from the irs saying I was due a bigger eic refund then I had gotten. I files the form out and sent it back in the beginning of April and have not heard anything back. I finally got ahold of someone at the irs a month ago and they said they have not recieveed it yet and that it was probably in their mail room somewhere has their mail room was over filled with mail. I am wondering if I should just amend my return or continue to wait and hope they find it

In normal times, it takes 16 weeks for the IRS to process an amend.  This year they are far behind.  Sending another amend will put things further behind.  

They will get to it at some point.  When they open it, then you will be able to see it on the Where's My Amended Return site.  Check it out once in a while.
