Almost 8 months still no refund!?

I filed electronically Feb 2nd, it was accepted the same day. I claimed the child tax credit and EITC. Mid February it updated and said they needed more info I would receive a notice and respond within 30 days, I received the notice about a week later and sent every document they needed march 8th. It’s now Mid September and the only thing I’ve heard from them is a letter that said "if you don’t hear from us by August 29th call us". I called and the woman said I don’t know why it’s taking so long, you should have had it by now, she put in a request for the exam department to look into it. That was 2 weeks ago. Still nothing WMR is still on the same thing it was back mid February. I don’t know what to do, I’ve called several tax advocates over the past few months and I have never even gotten a call back.
