After e-filing, why did the program give me form 8453 to paper file forms 8949?

Look at that form again ... if you choose to enter section summaries for the stock sales on the form 8949s instead of  entering all the individual sales  you need to mail a copy of the BROKER 1099-B with the form 8453  and NOT the 8949 forms that go with the return.

Forms 8949 included all the transactions.  No information was omitted.

If all the transactions were already entered on the form 8949 then you can ignore the 8453 ... somewhere in the program you indicated incorrectly that you were only going to enter summaries and then didn't.
