I e-filed both federal and state returns for an estate trust using TurboTax Business 2024 and opted to provide the bank routing and account info to pay the tax due. After filing I received an additional 1099-INT and had to amend the return. Reading other comments I learned that I have to mail an amended federal return because the bank routing info cannot be transmitted on an amended return. However, when I printed the return the Tax and Payment section of Form 1041 shows the new amount due, but does not indicate the prior payment.
Per the IRS site, I should be able to indicate this somewhere in Schedule G.
I checked my bank account and the funds for the original filing were taken from my account as expected. I should only have to pay the difference of the new tax amount less the original tax already paid. How do I indicate that in the software? I would assume it would already know about the prior payment. Thoughts?

Yes, you pay only the difference with the amended Form 1041 (no Form 1040-X just a checkbox on Form 1041). The IRS will eventually connect all payments, original return and amended return.
Per the Form 1041 Amended Instructions (page 20): If the total tax on line 24 is larger on the amended return than on the original return, you should generally pay the difference with the amended return. However, you should adjust this amount if there is any increase or decrease in the total payments shown on line 26. Make this change before you mail the return either in Forms or after you print it for mailing.
