Accidently resent 2016 tax return instead of 2017, what can I do

Prepare and file your 2017 return. 

Since 2016 returns cannot be efiled, I will presume you mailed it.  If you already have a 2016 return on file, the IRS will reject your second filing and may send you a letter about it. If they write you, write back if necessary.  If you do not hear from them, you need not worry.
