Just need quick answer, bc I need to know things...If the news just said the IRS is not accepting tax returns until tomorrow (1/29/18) how was mine accepted on the 22nd?

You are correct, the IRS website does state that they will not begin accepting Tax Returns until 1/29/18. 

However, the IRS does process some Tax Returns early as part of it's testing program. 

Although your return was processed early, your refund still will not be processed until after 1/29/18.

To check the status of your federal tax refund, go to Where's My Refund? at IRS.gov.

Mine was accepted the same exact day. So i called the irs and asked what it meant if i was approved up to a week ago? They said it just means it was accepted to see if the system was working properly and it won’t actually process until today the 29th. Which sucks i got my hopes up. They said they start processing in a first In basis
