No they will not ... if the IRA holds your refund for more then 36 days after the expected refund date  they will send you several emails telling you what your options are ... pay attention to them.

  1. We'll send an email with instructions on how to pay your TurboTax fees (minus the Refund Processing fee, if any) by a certain date.
  2. If the fees remain unpaid by the specified date, we'll send two more followup emails asking that you either pay or request a deferment to prevent the fees from being automatically debited from your bank account.
  3. Finally, if you still haven't paid by the requested date, we’ll send a final email letting you know that we're debiting the fees (minus the Refund Processing fee, if any) and that the auto-debit process cannot be stopped.

This is my current situation as well. Being the IRS told me that many turbo tax users were being reviewed, and if this is turbo tax problem then it is out of my control and I will not pay before my review is completed. As for remaining a turbo tax user as I have the past 7 years I doubt I do again.

@Mygloba As part of the Refund Processing service agreement, you agreed that if you had not received your refund within a certain time frame, your account will be auto-debited the Turbo Tax fees.
