2022 Tax Amendment

I just submitted my tax amendment for 2022. The federal portion was done electronically and already accepted. However, do I also need to mail in the state portion if I don't owe anything and also won't get a state refund? Amendments were done to Form 8949 and Child Credit.

No, if there were no changes to the state return, you do not have to file the state amended return.  The Child Credit would not change the state tax, but the 8949 may possibly change your state tax- so check the amounts carefully.

Sorry, it was the dependent child credit. Would that change the state tax? The 8949 crypto sales update resulted in a $0 state refund change.

You don't need to mail in the state return for the crypto sales. What state is this for and is the Child and Dependent Care that was changed? Most states do not have this credit.

You don't need to submit the state tax return if your tax did not change.
