2020 Return Accepted but Payment NOT Processed

My 2020 taxes were "accepted" on 4/3/21.  My payment from my bank account was scheduled for 4/7/21.  However, the payment has not been withdrawn from my account. Why is this?

Please check in a few days again. You can view your balance and payment activity at IRS Paying Your Taxes. Please, be aware, you have until May 17th to pay your balance due. If the balance due is not taken from your account by May 16th, the you have the option to pay your balance due online at  IRS Paying Your Taxes.

Expect the payment to happen anytime ... balance due returns are being pushed to the back of the line while the understaffed and overtasked IRS can focus on processing returns with refunds  and sending out third stimulus payments.   Check your bank every few days for the debit confirmation.

Its been two weeks and still my payment hasn't been processed.  While I received the email from TurboTax that my return was accepted by the IRS, the IRS website shows "no information available" for my 2020 taxes... no payment pending or scheduled, nothing! What is the deal - has anyone else expierenced this?

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about your payment, but please wait 7 to 10 days after your return was accepted before calling.
