2017 Return

I need my 2017 return ASAP. When I go to purchase PLUS, it shows I already have it. Yet when I try to access my 2017 return, it says I need PLUS...

Click on Upgrade Now (if Plus is grayed out then you are already using Plus and only need to pay for the upgrade)

To pay the TurboTax online account fees by credit card so you can access your prior year online tax returns, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  On the next page, to pay by credit card, click Pay Now.  On the next screen just click on the Continue button.  The next screen will show a review of your Fees, click on Continue.  Complete the next screen to pay by credit card and click Continue.

So, I don't want this year's return.

I would like 2017's return.

My 2018 return is already easily accessible. 

My 2017 is not.

You have to pay for the upgrade to the 2018 tax return before you will have access to the prior year online tax returns.  Following the procedure posted will give you that access.

I paid for the upgrade to the 2018 tax return.

I still am unable to access my 2017 tax return; hence my question. I have followed a lot of steps online, but I cannot figure out what I'm missing.

@raemuk If you paid for one of the 2018 TurboTax online editions of either Plus, Deluxe, Premier or Self-Employed with a credit card, then you should have access to all prior year online returns through October 2020.  Provided that you signed onto the 2018 online account using the exact same User ID you used to create the prior year online returns.

To access your prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you still cannot access your account, you can contact TurboTax customer service/support through their contact website during business hours.

Was your 2017 return prepared with Online TurboTax?  If so, log in to your account and look in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents."   Choose tax year 2017, and look for a link to download/print the PDF.   Do you find evidence of your return there OK, but when you try to download, does it ask you to pay?   If it was prepared in Free Edition last year, access will be locked. If that's your situation, we can tell you how to pay to unlock your 2017 return.   The method to unlock it depends on what all you have done with your 2018 return.

If that's your situation, please answer all of the following:

1. What is the story on your 2018 return?   i.e., have you already filed a 2018 return in Online TurboTax, or is one still in preparation, or did you file elsewhere?
2. Was the 2018 return prepared in Free Edition?
3. Is the 2018 return in the SAME account as the 2017 online return?

We can tell you how to unlock a prior return once you answer all the questions above.

There's also a free option if a return transcript will suit your purpose.   You may be able to immediately download one at the IRS website if you qualify to open an IRS account there.  Otherwise, to order a transcript to come by postal mail takes 5-10 calendar days.
