Accepted 2/12. Got state refund last week. Over the weekend went from one bar and TT 152 to no bars and return being processed. That's where I still am. Looked at tax transcript this AM and there is still no record of 2020 filing. Was not eligible for any of the credits that have caused others delays. Spoke to someone at the IRS on Tuesday who said that there are delays and they expect to have everything sorted by tomorrow. Ironically the IRS tweeted this week that the best way to get your money fast is to file early and electronically. Admitting that they have delays and communicating with the public about it would be the right thing to do. I'm pretty fed up but the money is held hostage effectively.
Agreed- sounds like everyone on this thread SAME issues. Common trend is everyone bars disappears for a week or so then come back with topic or sometimes without topic and N/A on transcripts. I also have never in my life waited this long for a refund. And so sick of being told to call the IRS or there’s an issue. No the issue is the IRS is slammed and doesn’t want to be honest with the early filers- somewhere along the lines all of the early filers got messed up.
Hang tight mama, your not alone! As someone said before i was mentioning to DH too at the end of the day were forced to wait on it although I still want to call because what if they haven't let me know of an error or Turbo didn't file it or who knows? I really really hope its like a one month time frame thing i think last year i got accepted end of January and got them end of Feb so im hoping that we get that DD soon!? Prayers for everyone guys! & keep us updated anything
I heard that if you have a tax topic with still processing you should be receiving a ddd soon.
I really hope so too! I called on the 5th and I was told that I didn’t have any errors and that it was approved and was just in its final stages and that I could expect a refund by the 21st of March but now I don’t know what to believe anymore.
I think you’ll be fine- what’s crazy is if there is a problem or if you owe the IRS they have no problem sending you something or taking your stuff, but let it be money owed to us. What a joke. I’m praying we all get before stimulus hits because some of us need them to base our stimulus off our 2020 returns and if it’s still processing I bet money that they will send the stimulus and do something like give you credit for next years returns or mail you the difference- they knew what was going to happen but unfortunately they were not prepared. I’ll keep checking my transcripts & update if something changes. My friends/family from 2/11 still don’t have an update as of today either.
I filed 2/14, accepted on 2/16, then when the bars disappeared i called to find out what happened. According to the IRS there was an error on my return and now it's going to take 10 weeks for me to get my refund. I looked over my return and there's nothing wrong!! Is this only happening to people who used TT?
None of this is only happening to people who used TurboTax. It's happening to all kinds of people, even private tax preparers are talking about it. I'm the last person to shower love on any corporation, but the issue is with the IRS. And that doesn't make it the direct responsibility of either administration either - there were changes to tax laws because of the pandemic and stimulus packages, people are sick with COVID, it's really a perfect storm. HOWEVER it is absurd that the IRS pushed back the acceptance date at the same time as they told everyone to file early and electronically and didn't anticipate the heavy influx of returns. Now it's going to be even worse because the new package means that some people are going to need to refile!
This is what they are telling the majority of people “10 weeks” and they had an error. How can all early filers have an error? Lol. I also read that the “error department” is not an actual error department it’s where all returns go to be reviewed and these reps are telling people their returns are at the “error department.” Honestly it’s an IRS mess up and these reps are working from home then likely and not all on the same page. Imagine getting the same questions over and over and given no direction by upper management. We’re all freaking out because most of us have NEVER had a problem with our refunds, but I’m holding on hope. : ) thank you to everyone that responded and glad we got ACTUAL feedback and not bots with generated messages 😂
When did you file and when were you accepted?
I filed 2/4, accepted 2/11, they weren’t even accepting returns. I’m guessing we were part of their test batch and things went left. I did my friends taxes 2/5, she was accepted 2/12 got her refund a few weeks ago. She has kids so nothing to do with credits. Everyone I know who was accepted 2/11 is in the same situation.
I filed and accepted on 2/16. I had all my bars up until this past weekend. I lost my tax topic but now it's telling me that it's still being processed. Idk what's going on I've just been waiting bc at this point that's all you can do.
I filed on the 2/4 it was accepted in 2/11 and on 3/2 all bars were gone and says still processing then referenced topic 152. Still no update. Tried calling the IRS numerous times and it says they’re too busy and to try again at a later time. TT, besides this community chat, is of no help neither. This isn’t the first year I’ve filed with TT and I’ve never had an issue
This was SAME thing as me, but my TT 152 disappeared with my bars but my TT 152 came back with no bars and “still processing.” No issues ever before. It’s the early filers. Like I said, on other discussion boards same thing- accepted 2/11, bars disappear, a week later TT 152 come back but still says “still being processed” & n/a transcript.
Have you tried checking your transcript? & I also seen on a Facebook post that if the topic comes back you'll be getting a ddd soon.
