Same thing happened to me. As a property manager I should be able to keep using form 1099-MSC but mine got rejected as well. Intuit please contact IRS to let them know about this mess.
I re-filed with new 1099-MISC forms and IRS accepted them in two days!
So glad to hear it. I resubmitted my group yesterday without making any changes. Your news makes me hopeful.
Update--
I resubmitted my 1099-MISC yesterday with no changes to the original forms. Just this morning I received an accepted email with a confirmation number. I didn't realize there were confirmation numbers, but it is a good reference in case there are questions, so keep those confirming emails.
Thanks to everyone to shared their experiences.
I also did the same, I resubmitted the original forms with no changes. And I also received an accepted email with confirmation number. I am so relieved everything worked out.
I also thank everyone for sharing their experience and for everyone involved in making the changes necessary to allow Turbo Tax Quick Employer Forms to work properly. It is such a convenient and time saving feature for me.
Thank you, everyone.
So this happened to me as well. I understand that I will have to refile. however, my question is what happens to the 1099 NEC's that were accepted with the IRS. How do they get canceled with the IRS on My side of filing . Every thing is done electronically
I only filed 1099-MISC forms for rent. I never took their "suggestion" that I use the 1099-NEC form since it did not apply. I don't know if I follow what you actually did. Did you file 1099-NEC forms after the MISC forms were rejected that were not Non Employee Compensation? You may need to refile the 1099-NEC and mark them as "corrected" with 0.00's. This whole rejection thing has caused people so much trouble and uncertainty when we were doing things the right way.
It would be very helpful for Turbo Tax to post instructions on what process to use when you have a 1099-Misc (for land rent, etc) rejected on their questions page. Evidently Turbo Tax and IRS go it fixed. I am so thankful because if you have ever had to explain something to IRS you know!
