1040X to Austin and 8453 to Fresno CA ?
So confused:
I have not yet paid my original amount due for 2019 Federal taxes.
I determined I owe more and wanted to send 1 check for the full amount.
On 1040X it says to send the form to Fresno CA as well as the EXTRA payment.
On 8453 it says to send that form and 8949 documentation to Austin TX.
I wanted to confirm where I should send my full payment to and if I really need to send these forms to different IRS addresses.
Thanks

If you are amending a return to add the stock sales then you do NOT use the 8453 ... the 8949 is attached directly to the 1040X along with any payments required.

Thank you! My inclination is to also include the 8453 (and it's already printed out) but if you think that would cause a problem, I won't.
I asked this separately but in case you know - I have not yet mailed my state taxes of paid. Should I just print out the amended return and pay the full amount or will the state think it's weird if I'm sending something amended before my original filing? Thanks

The 8453 is ONLY mailed separately if you are not amending the return... the 8949 is simply attached to the 1040X.
And do NOT mail in an amended state return if you never filed an original return ... it will be rejected.
Sounds like you filed the fed but not the state ... then amended the fed and the state. You will need to UNDO the state amendment and mail in an original return.

Thanks very much. I am re-printing an "original" state return with the new calculation off of Turbotax. Thanks again.
