I just found out that the Tax Audit Defense you now pay for only covers ONE year. If you get audited two years after you file, you are on your own. Prior to TY2024, the Audit Defense covered the Statute of Limitations on the return. I had to pay another $40 to extend the TY2024 defense, which now covers the rest of the years under the Statute of Limitations. I assume I will have to do the same thing next year for TY2025.
