Stimulus Check /Deposit

Hi,

I did not get the direct-deposit of $1200 until this morning (4/24/2020),  although the IRS has my bank account information from my 2018 tax return.  The reason could be that, I was told,  I have filed the 2018 tax return with "can be claimed as a dependent"  (although I was actually not claimed as a dependent).   So, I have filed the 2019 tax return this afternoon  (4/24/2020), obviously did not check the box this time, and got the "acceptance" notice from IRS just now.

Can I get still get the stimulus direct deposit or a check - which supposed go out next few weeks?

Also, if there is any additional stimulus in the future, can I assume the IRS will consider the 2019 tax return (but not 2018 tax return)?

Thank you so much for your help in this matter!

Based on your first sentence, it sounds like you already received the $1200 stimulus. Is that correct?

Regarding the possibility of additional stimulus payments, the parameters and requirements will depend on Congress.

    Dear Expert,

    Thank you for your reply!

I greatly appreciate your spending valuable time responding to my questions.

No, I still have not received  $1200.00  so far, and the inquiry on the EIP/IRS website shows  "Payment Status Not Available" message.

My question was, in general,  if the current ($1200) and any future stimulus will be based on the 2018 or 2019 tax return (filed on 4/24/2020).  Thank you again!
