I filed my taxes before the $10,200 unemployment tax exemption. I had to pay $400+ on unemployment taxes so I did not get a federal tax return. I was eligible for the EITC but because I owed taxes I didn't get anything. Now that there's a $10,200 tax exemption Do I need to file an amended return? or is the IRS taking care of that and any possible federal return?
