Return Still Being Process After 3 Weeks and No Stimulus Check

I electronically filed on Feb. 29 and my return was accepted a day later, but I haven't received my refund and it's past 21 days. IRS.GOV refund status says my refund is "still being reviewed," so it's not showing approved. I called the help number but there's currently no live help and the automated responder doesn't provide any helpful information.

I also haven't received my stimulus check though I filed electronically through Turbo Tax in 2018 and 2019, so they should have my banking information on file. The Get My Payment tool says "We cannot determine your eligibility at this time."

Has anyone in this situation found a way to resolve this problem? It feels like there's nothing I can do and no way to get additional information. It's pretty frustrating that I paid Turbo Tax and I'm running into these problems with no help offered from Turbo Tax.

I filed  before that and still have no refund, only reason I went with these clowns was I was out of state working and couldn't get to my accountant.  And there is noone you can talk to, that pisses me off more than anything.

@lwalker1963 - please read this article from the government 'watchdog' office... the issue is not TT, it's the IRS

I filed my taxes the week before they started accepting them. When TurboTax send mine on February 12th it got accepted! I have been in “processing” ever since then. I received my state refund like 2 weeks After filing in my bank account! So I have no clue what is going on!! I also have yet to receive stimulus for either one of my children any of the 3 payments!!!!

now today I just got an email saying that TurboTax is charging me $80 to my bank account because of the IRS not issuing my refund yet !!? This is so frustrating!!! Like I have two kids and I  am a single mom this last year has not been easy by any means! I literally feel like they lost my return and just forgot about it.... this is awful!!

on top of everything you CANNOT get a live person when calling the IRS or the advocate service!! I’m running out of ideas here!

This very thing happened happened to me.  I filed on 3/6. I did receive my MI return but no Federal and no stimulus.  I never received the second stimulus check either and had to claim it on my taxes. I heard that they maybe ONE of the reasons it’s taking so long.  I don’t know what the reason is for it not being processed yet all I know is I, like many others, could really use my return AND 3rd stimulus check. It’s been over a month since I filed! 😔

There is nothing you can do but wait for the IRS to get to your return in the pile of millions of returns waiting to get processed.

I understand that and definitely know how back up they are but I’m more concerned with the thought that someone has used my identity because when I recently tried to file for regular unemployment comp (not pua) it says there is an account already collecting for pua…I’ve contacted several departments regarding this issue and not getting anywhere

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions

The IRS is seriously behind in processing 2020 tax returns.  This is due to many factors, such as the pandemic, completing processing of millions of 2019 tax returns, stimulus payments, unemployment compensation exclusion tax refunds., changes in the tax code by Congress in the middle of the 2020 tax season and the like.

Millions of taxpayers have not yet received there federal tax refunds.

As of June 23, 2021, we had 17.5 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include tax year 2020 returns such as those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
