Refund

Ok I E-filed and IRS accepted it on the 1/22/20 I thought was wired because they said they was not a accepting until the 27th. I looked at where’s my refund on the 1/25/20 it had one bar said was accepted. On 2/5/20 it went to the PATH act and stayed like that until 2/16/20 Message changed to we received your refund and is processing no bars nothing. My turbo tax says refund expected on 2/12/20 obviously that didn’t happen been way past 21 days. Has anyone else have this problem?

My taxes were also accepted January 29th. Yes I filed for EIC and all it says in the irs website is that it is still processing. When originally it said estimated date was feb 19

TurboTax only provides an estimated refund date based on the average amount of time it has taken other taxpayers to receive their refunds. The IRS didn't start processing early filed EIC tax returns until late February.  Keep checking Where’s My Refund? as they have the most up to date information available about your federal refund. The tool is updated daily (usually in the overnight hours) so you don’t need to check more often.

Funny, I was reading your post thinking 🤔 🤔 "I don't remember writing that " 🤣 My situation mirrors yours verbatim. I've read ddd could be between 2/22 & 3/2 for the early filers w/ EIC. Until then I'll be #ImpatientlyWaiting  😒

Thank you Critter for the clear grammatical explanation of what’s going on with Federal/State tax refunds. I guess the prolonged process has everyone on edge but I now understand. I’ve had the same issue as most and I didn’t read a post where someone admitted to filing EITC/the other one lol but I did so now I can stop checking every morning because it’s only updated once overnight and just wait until after the 22nd of February. I filed February 3rd and compared to previous taxes within 2 weeks I had a refund date but new year new process I suppose. #itiswhatitis The government won’t speed things up for us no matter how bad we need it. Hopefully by next week we are surprised with Direct Deposit Dates!!!!

If they accepted it on 1/22/20, it has not  been over 21 days. Actually,  today is about the 20th day because you don't count weekends or holidays; this past Monday was a holiday. Next, IRS usually updates the where's my refund only once a week on Wednesday. IRS generally makes return deposits on Wednesday's and Friday's. Also, sometimes the app says it is still processing but the refund is already in your account. Finally, the IRS did state that if you are filing earned income credit or child care credit you may not receive your refund until the first week of March but in the past it would come at the end of February.

Most of what you said is incorrect. WMR is updated daily. Checks are sent out daily, but big batches are done Monday and Thursday. You do count weekends. You just do not count Federal Holidays.

I have same issue. I submitted Jan 25, said it was accepted. It shoed in the IRS tracker as accepted. I checked to see on Feb 17 and there was no tracker and said it was still processing. Last year it took 1 week. I already received my state refund that I had to wait an additional week to file. Those took a only a week to get. My daughter's birthday is Feb 29, it comes once every 4 years, I was counting on that money for our trip to Disneyland. All is paid for except $1200 for passes. I'm worried.

Well I'm really hoping that we get good news on Saturday cause I believe that's the 21 day deadline

TT I think should update their software for Eitc and actc filers.. This year has been super irritating because although we have submitted our returns early because of the hold all filers who claimed credit tax returns did not begin processing until February 15th.. Factoring a holiday and weekends it just seems like a looooong drawn out process.  Now hopefully the benefit of filing early and being accepted early should result in our returns who are claiming credits to be processed first along with DD first. Patience is a virtue but in due time this too shall pass! Stay positive everyone😘

WMR on IRS.gov and the IRS2Go app will be updated with projected deposit dates for most early EITC/ACTC refund filers by February 22. So EITC /ACTC filers will not see an update to their refund status for several days after Feb. 15.
