Disappointed

I used TurboTax for years, which made this experience even more disappointing. My 2024 tax return was filed with incorrect bank account information, resulting in my refund being sent to an erroneous bank account. Despite multiple calls over several months, TurboTax repeatedly blamed me for what I believe was an error with their online portal, suggesting that I had entered an incorrect routing and account number rather than thoroughly investigating the issue. I was repeatedly referred back to the IRS and received little meaningful assistance. To date, I have still not been able to receive my refund. The lack of customer service, accountability, and willingness to investigate a serious issue made an already stressful situation even worse. I cannot recommend TurboTax based on my experience.

Is the bank routing number and the bank account number correct on your 2024 Form 1040 Lines 35b and 35d?

Did you request to have your 2024 TurboTax fees paid from the federal tax refund?

I assume the IRS did send the refund?  Do you know what account # they sent it to?  In addition to sending it to the 3 party bank if you had the fees taken out of it, there is this…..

Did you use Turbo Tax by going through an investment company?  Or import any 1099?  Those have been known to change your deposit to your investment account. So check all your accounts if you have those.

"The refund was sent to a bank I didn't recognize because Schwab where I have an account uses an intermediary bank, JP Morgan/Chase. So the refund was in my Schwab account which has little activity and I had not checked. I had not had a refund in so long, I did not remember the default account I had set up years ago for refunds."
