Direct Deposit Dates for People with Credits (EIC/ACTC)

This is a thread for those WITH credits who wish to start discussing or posting anticipated DDDs. Please do not respond with wikipedia copy and paste/irs.gov info about the PATH act or anything similar. We understand that they are held.

However, in previous years, I have found I usually get mine around the 20th of February. Not the beginning of March. Obviously, the IRS gives itself wiggle room, so tells people to expect refunds with credits at the beginning of March.

Please just state that you claimed a credit or credits and when your Where's my Refund status changed and the date of your projected DDD. Or, state if you're still waiting for a status change.

If we don't put useless info that anyone can find on Google on here, then people can easily find what they're looking for; which is if any filers with credits have a DDD yet. Thanks.

Same here I filed on 1/17/2020. My taxes got accepted on 1/27/2020. And now its just saying it's being processed. I am so stressed with these changes with the path law. I know there just taking measures but come on. I didnt have these issues last year

I just spoke with a lady at the irs.. she stated that they did not release the hold on the ones who claimed the credits until yesterday the 18th.. that yes mid February was the 15th but that it was a Saturday and they were closed and Monday was a holiday.. said that now that the hold has been removed the will finish processing and once it’s done processing we will see updates.. hope this helps!!

Real MVP lol

Mine only says that IRS received my return and is still being processed. No other info given.

This is a first for me. I usually see the colored progressed bar but not his year and they've had

mine since Jan 29. Turbo tax should give estimated direct deposit dates for EIC filers as if they weren't. Its very

confusing and misleading when they should know these delays and rules as well as the IRS especially when they've been delaying EIC filers in the past.

These are same motions that happened last year.

1) Filed and accepted, had one bar

2) Path Act message

3) Still processing

Or

4) Still processing we will let you know a refund date when available

5) DDD

We will see an update Saturday but no DDD for those except the early filers

Filed 1/27

Accepted 1/27

I will be in the second round of deposits (I’m very certain of that)

I had to mail my return in as the agi for my spouse was always incorrect and it got rejected so many times I had to print and mail. Earlier this week it was finally received and the Where's My Refund site updated that return was approved and it should be sent to my bank by Feb 24th.  Hopefully it'll show up tomorrow but even if it shows up on the 24th that's a pretty quick turnaround.  I do have the Earned Income credit or the child tax credit (not sure which) Turbo tax said I qualified for though I don't quite understand why....

The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit cards starting February 27, 2019, if these taxpayers chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with their tax return.

This is the OP.

Please don't spread misinformation on this thread by stating losing your bars with "the still being processed" message means an ID verify.

I spoke to  a couple reps at the IRS and it does not mean this. You could get this message if you ended up being sent a letter in the mail, but usually it will be a message to "take action."

This message just simply means that they can no longer guarantee the refund in the 21 day turnaround. It is informational and if you have PATH and filed in late January or early February and were not included in the small test batch of people who had a DDD for this week, you may have this message.

Many, many people had their status change to no bars, still being processed, tax topic 152 once PATH lifted, which ended up being on Tuesday.

And btw, the IRS agent I spoke to today said that one should become semi concerned, only if they don't have a DDD by February 27th. Which is when the second batch, main non-test batch of refunds will be disbursed to the banks.

However, banks receive pre-authorization some business days prior to deposit. If you have a card like Serve,  Chime, TT, Bluebird...you'll likely see these deposits prior to then. Some rumors say tomorrow, before WMR updates. Rumors are rumors though until verified.

As we learned last week.

But overall, it seems that most people will see DDD soon.

Other friends of mine who filed eic after me by 2 weeks are getting their refunds, and a few are expecting in 1 to 5 days. When I check mine it says nothing.

Check your transcript.  Refund issue date should be available now

I can't check my transcripts because I don't have a loan or a credit card. Idk why they require that

Files 1/28 accepted 1/29. No bars and showing TT152. Have education credit and ACTC. Last year I did not receive my return until the end of June due to IRS throwing millions of us under unnecessary review. So I’m concerned I might have the same issue this year.
