I had e-filed my taxes and it was accepted but a week later I went to check the status and come to find out I entered the wrong account number but correct routing number how can I resolve this issue?

If you have entered the wrong account number, the deposit will be rejected back to the IRS and they will issue you a check in the mail. There is no way to correct the account number once your return is submitted.

If you’re not required to file taxes and don’t receive Social Security benefits, use our free
