delete previous years turbo tax software, ok to do?

I wouldn’t uninstall them.   You might not be able to install it again if you ever need to amend or see more of your data than the pdf.  You can not view prior years with the current year program.  After you file you should save your return as a pdf file with all the worksheets so you don’t need the program installed to view it.  So save the pdf file and the .tax files each year and make backups of them.  

The software does use a LOT of storage space on your drive. You can uninstall the program if you have filed and don’t need or want to view your return WITHIN the program (i.e., you view the PDF exclusively). If you ever need to amend or view your return in the program, you can always reinstall it.

Each tax year is unique to TurboTax so you can only view your 2025 return with a 2025 edition of the program. If you want to view your 2024 return, you would need to open that return (the .tax file) from within a 2024 edition of TurboTax.

As already suggested…..The “BUT” to all this is that if you do uninstall any prior years software sets,  you can only reinstall the current year’s software plus any up-to 3 years back.  Thus, right now you could only install back to the 2022 desktop software…..and the ability to re-install 2022 will be removed sometime later this year.    i.e.  one of the three back years will drop off with every succeeding year.
