Amended 2025 return rejected

I submitted my amended 2025 return (TurboTax desktop, Mac Studio, Tahoe 26.3) and it keeps getting rejected for "/Return/ReturnData/IRS1040X/NetChangeOrigRptOrPrevAdjGrp/TotalAdditionalDeductionsAmt - Data in the return is missing or invalid. Please double check your entries."

I've gone into the TurboTax application and it shows the rejected status and supposedly fixes the error, but the return is rejected again after I submit it.

I've looked at the 1040X form and can't for the life of me see anything wrong or missing.

Can anyone offer some help please?

I was able to speak to Support and confirmed there is an issue with the 1040-X which should be fixed by March 6th.      It has something to do with the “total additional deductions amount” in my case , which appears to be recalculated correctly but the software thinks not.

I am having the same problem.  The purpose of my amendment was to add a 1099G and give back some of the refund I already received.  Pretty simple.  TurboTax provides no guidance on how to fix the problem.

I think I found the problem.  The amended return has calculated taxable income incorrectly, so it does not match the original return I filed.  Now, how do I report this to Intuit?

Ditto !    I have the same issue.       ,   my revision was adding a 1099 that was omitted on original filing.

Hope this gets Fixed ASAP as I need to pay back a good part of the refund I just got deposited.

HATE that is no direct support from Intuit for this product.

Awesome!  Thank you - I could not find any way to contact intuit to ask them about it.  I did just a bit ago find their [phone number removed] customer support phone number though.  It's well-hidden.

All I did was change the overtime deduction amount. I filed it and was immediately rejected. I'm trying to pay THEM money!

To see what is causing your return to be rejected and find out how to fix it:

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Select the Fix my return button
    • Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.

What does my rejected return code mean and how do I fix it?

There are also some returns that are not able to be filed due to a processing error that will be corrected on March 6, 2026. If this is your case, after this date, open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing.

I was able to open my return,  and e-file the amended return and it was accepted.

software updated for me today,  and said it was release date 3/5/26

Thanks @LeticiaF1 .  I did the "fix it" thing and refiled (as I stated in my original post) and it was rejected again - several times.

I'm very disappointed that the intuit quality control allowed that release with bugs in it.  Hopefully those in intuit are keeping in mind the fact that software bugs and errors can have very serious consequences for your users, not to mention all the time wasted refiling and trying to determine whether a user entry error was made.

Will there be a formal announcement to your users when the thoroughly tested fix has been implemented and released?
