2020 E-filing not accepted because IRS not yet processed 2019 return.

I filed my 2019 taxes in July.  The IRS, despite cashing the check I sent then to pay what I owed, reports me on their web page as not yet having submitted my 2019.  Knowing that IRS had not yet processed the form, I didn't know what to do when I tried to e-file my 2020 when it came to the identity question about last year's AGI.  I just guessed I should answer truthfully and ended up putting in my AGI from last year from my records.  I suppose, unsurprisingly, my e-filing is being rejected by the IRS, and Turbotax reports the reason as AGI not matching last year's return.  So I thought I would try to change that and submit saying that I had not filed a return last year, since as far as the IRS is concerned I haven't.

But Turbotax won't let me change that setting as far as I can tell.  Is there a way to change it?  Or should I just file a paper return, hoping that the IRS someday gets around to processing it as well as my Covid relief money credit from last year.  I never received the second relief because IRS has not yet processed 2019, although I did receive the first relief because it went of 2018.

Since the IRS has not processed your 2019 tax return enter a 0 (zero) for the 2019 AGI.

To revisit the 2019 AGI section in TurboTax Online:

    1. Sign in and open your return, if you haven't already done so.
    2. From the left menu, select File (tap in the upper-left corner to expand the menu on mobile devices).
    3. Select Start next to Step 3 (if needed, revisit Steps 1 and/or 2 to activate Step 3).
    4. Select I want to e-file.
    5. Continue until you see the place to enter your 2019 AGI.

Thanks.  I'll try that, although I use TurboTax for the Mac.  Hopefully the same thing will work if I put 0 in on that page.
