Deductions on wrong spouse? How to correct

Hello

When entering child care expenses, it should default to the spouse who makes the least, however mine is on the higher income spouse and i cannot correct/change it. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Does anyone have any idea? Turbotax's "help" won't connect me to a person.

Did you enter the child care expenses under the spouse that was to claim it?

Yes, i entered my tax info first (the lower one), then when i added my spouse's tax info it automatically changed it to hers and i didn't notice and posted it, only to notice when i was printing a hard copy.

I've tried to refile and adjust it, but cannot change it, even when it asks if the higher income spouse is eligible and i say no.

I am having the same issue now in 2026 for the 2025 tax year. I tried clearing my browser cache and re-entering the expenses under the lower-income spouse but it automatically puts them with the higher-income spouse (who used to be the lower-income one). Is there any resolution to this issue yet?

I ended up transferring the credits from the higher income spouse onto the one with the lower income; however, my current issue is that the software isn’t allowing me to file in Quebec at all. Not even printing to mail…

I am definitely considering changing to ufile after being with Turbotax for so long… too many non sensical issues to deal with the past couple of years
