Hello, I was flagged by the software that I was eligible for "Amount for Eligible Dependant " when I was submitting 2025 taxes. I am a single parent since 2019. Why was it not flagged before even though I have mentioned child's SIN, correct marital status, child's daycare expenses and entered all information correctly How do I go about claiming previous years amounts. I spoke with CRA agent and there is an issue so I cannot change it through CRA online page. The other option is to do it through software or mail T1 adjustment to CRA which can take a lot of time for correction. Please advise

Thanks for posting your question! For claiming this for previous years, the mechanism is Form T1-ADJ, either electronically via CRA My Account, or by mail since you mentioned the online option isn't working for you. On the form, you'd reference line 30400 (Amount for Eligible Dependant) for each year you're adjusting.

Note: a separate adjustment request is needed for each tax year.

If you need further assistance with this we would reach out to TurboTax Canada Support.
