I have seen a number of reports recently that due to the wild fires and mud slides residents and business owners in Ventura county California have been granted an extension on paying their taxes. My understanding is that we now have until April 30 to pay.
If this is true does it include both federal and state taxes?

Yes - Ventura County residents and businesses have until April 30 to file their taxes this year due to a tax-relief program from the Internal Revenue Service linked to the disaster declaration that followed the Thomas Fire.
Additional information is available on the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/tax-relief-for-victims-of-wildfires-flooding-mudflows-and-debris-flows-....
This extension will apply to CA income tax returns, since the CA tax return is based on the information in the federal tax return.
