How do I claim grandchildren as dependents

If your grandchildren aren't being claimed on someone else's return and meet the requirements of a qualifying child you can enter them on your return in the Personal Info Section.

1. Open (or continue) your return
2. Select the Personal Info tab
   
3. On the Personal Info Summary page you will select add dependent
4. The next screen will ask "Who do you support" - select Another person.  You will then see a drop down menu where you can select grandchild.
5. Once you select Continue, complete your dependent's information on the following screens until you have reached the end of the interview
