We’ve claimed our son as a dependent. He earned $14K, filing own returns. For VA St should he show $0 as exemption amount or $930 as a Single filer?

I’m unsure because the State form has the “1” exemption  pre-populated to then be multiplied by $930 - but since we’ve used an exemption for him as a dependent, doesn’t seem like he could as well.

Virginia gives everyone the one exemption of $930 even if he/she is a dependent. See screenshots. You have nothing to worry about. It is correct.
