There is no more deduction for employee business expenses.

Working from home does not affect your ability to claim itemized deductions instead of the standard deduction on your tax return. Do not confuse itemized deductions claimed on Schedule A for personal expenses with the business-related expenses claimed for a home office. Your mortgage interest and real estate taxes are personal expenses that can be claimed on Schedule A. However, If you work from home and you are self-employed, then you can also claim the portion of utilities and mortgage interest related to your business income. You will need TurboTax Self-employed to do so.

If you are not self-employed then you cannot claim business-related expense this year. This type of deduction has been suspended under the new tax law.
