Travel Nurse with W-2, separate tax home, mileage, and employer provided reimbursement for hotel/AirBnB

Worked as travel nurse 2018, tax home 4 hours away from assignment. Got W-2 from "employer", they also gave me per diem for hotel/AirBnB while on assignment.

Should this be a Schedule C, or a direct employee with mileage and hote/AirBnB expenses?

Yes, if you are entering everything and there is a state deduction available, TurboTax will figure that out for you as you walk through the state questions.

Is she a statutory employee (is box 13 checked on the W2)?

Employee business expenses were taken away for 2018, so unless she's a statutory employee she wont be able to deduct any expenses....maybe for the state, but not for federal.

Box 13 is NOT checked. :( So if there is some kind of state deduction, TurboTax should figure that out, yes?

One more thing then, is it true that there does NOT need to be a Schedule C since the Travel Nurse job is NOT considered self-employment since I'm getting a W-2 from the agency?

That is true., No schedule C if you are a W2 employee
