Please enter the information as if it was reported on two separate 1099-MISC.

Enter one 1099-MISC for the rent and a second 1099-MISC for the royalties.

I did create a second 1099-MISC, but it still shows an error. There is a red exclamation mark beside the Schedule E form and the rent box (not the numerals) on the Schedule E form Line 3 is shaded red.

Did you delete the 1099-misc that had both boxes reported first, before you tried to enter 2 separate ones? Can you switch to forms and see if there are 3 1099's?

What boxes are reported on the 1099?
