i recently submitted a question into the customer support. i asked if my boyfriend could claim me and my son as dependents on his 1099 taxes. i received a response that stated "The person can't be his qualifying child"... what exactly is this saying?

the shortest answer is NO .. he cannot claim either of you

In your case, child support received does not count as income.
