New york state business s corporation not downloading. Update says that the software is already up to date but when I click start state, it continues to put me in a loop

I click on Start now for state taxes.  I then click continue.  Under the tab state purchase, I click the box that was already purchased for New York S-Corporation.  I then click download now.  A prompt shows that the software will save my file and then begin the download.  The updater then says that our software is up to date. I then try to click on start state now and the cycle continues.

Suppose to be available for paper on 3/8 and e-file on 3/15 - the due date of the return. I filed an extension and will wait until after 3/15 to start again!

I believe paper filing is not allowed in NY for corporate returns anymore, which makes this more confusing.

That is correct, hence why I filed for an extension.

no but you have to make sure you are paid up on any tax due.

where did you file for an extension?

go to NYS Dept of Tax web site for businesses. Search for form CT-5.4. Must sign in and get to their Online Services - this is where you file it electronically.

For those who need to file an extension for Subchapter S, here is the NY State website <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://www.tax.ny.gov/online/">https://www.tax.ny.gov/online/</a>  If you don't already have an account make sure you create a business acount AND select all services so that you can file your extension electronically.  I had to delete my old account and create a new one, but it was very simple.  After signing in, click on Corporation Tax toward the bottom of your Account Summary screen, and then File Extension.  This site won't allow me to post the NYS tax phone number I called on Monday, but I did not wait long and person was very helpful.  Good luck!

You might need to select New York State S-corp with "Edit" button.

I opened my S-Corp file and I now have the New York S-Corp component.  Maybe someone at TT read all of our comments and pushed to get the program done.

It was scheduled to be available for "paper" filing on 3/8 but NOT available to e-file until 3/15. Let us know if you can e-file as that is what NYS requires.
