my husband passed away on september the 4th 2018. I need to have our last two years of taxes (his really because i still have my log in info) for 2016 and 2017. I would be happy to provide his death certificate, which states im his spouse. however i will send our marriage certificate if necessary, and of course a copy of my drivers license . Please get back to me as soon as possible, I need these documents for something personal as soon as possible

First, please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your husband.

TurboTax does not have the authority to release a tax return to a survivor of the taxpayer, since your apparent filing status was Married Filing Separately.  You would need the login information that your late husband used in order to access his TurboTax accounts.

You may be able to request copies from the IRS directly, but with the current government shutdown, that may take awhile.  I'd suggest seeking legal counsel on how to access copies of returns filed by your late husband.

call the IRS, they may require you to file form(s) 56 and or 2848 -  you'll have to prove you have the authority to access his returns such as being the executor of his estate. this won't be fast.  even a cpa or attorney can not legally access his returns without a power of attorney.
