I had made a mistake ( incorrect personal use) in my 2016 return filing because of which it did not show a loss at the time.I will be filing an amendment of the 2016 return.
Now the information in my Turbotax online profile interprets there is no loss to carry from 2016. This will make the loss carryover worksheet for 2017 incorrect. Where do I override the past loss carryover in the 2017 filing?
Thanks
Raja

That's part of the Rental and Royalty input. Using Find enter Rental, select one of the rental things there. That should get you into that area. Edit the rental and click through until you get to Do Any of These Situations Apply.... Under Carryovers check I have passive activity real estate losses ... and in the next screen you can enter your passive carryovers, regular tax and AMT.

I am using 2018 Home and Business. I imported a loss carryover from 2017 but I changed the 2017 return and there is no loss carried forward. Now I cannot find where to modify of change the loss that Turbotax thinks I carried forward from 2017. When I click through all the menu items in rental property, that screen, the one that ask if you "had any of these situations," is NOT appearing automatically. How to I get to it manually?

Which means you're using the CD version of the program. That's good, as it's much simpler and easier to navigate and change things.

This indicates that you started your 2018 return before you amended the 2017 return. If you can and if it's not to much trouble, just start the 2018 return all over again. That's actually the absolute simplest and easiest way to deal with this. Then you'll be importing form the more current, amended .tax2017 file.
Otherwise, start over in the rental section and indicate that you *DO* have carryovers. Then even if the next screen shows a carry over amount, if it's not correct you'll be able to change it.
