Transfer from online to software

How do I transfer the past 3 years of returns onto my 2017 software?  I get Error 190 after manually changing one of the returns file extension from .tax2015 to .tax2017

Transfer from online to software

You can download the .tax file to your computer. Then open the software and go to File, then click on Open Return.

To fix the error 190, you will have to Start a New Return and download the States that are in the tax files, that you are trying to upload.

You can download the .tax file to your computer. Then open the software and go to File, then click on Open Return.

Thank you, I was under the impression that I need to import each year separately.  But by downloading the in-progress 2017 .tax2017 file, I was able to import the prior years as well (I can see something at least!)  I feel much more comfortable working on the year 2017 filing now.
