I received a correct 1098. The amount changed in box 5. It went from $161.38 to 5372.73. Will this change my credit/deduction amount? Do I need to amend my taxes?

Yes, this will increase your deduction (and reduce your taxes), as long as you Itemize your deductions. You'll have to amend if you already filed.
