I have $2000 in energy tax credits that have been forwarded every year since 2008. How do I get them applied to my current tax liability?

As stated turbotax hax been forwarding my energy credit for several years. My tax liabilities have been small so I have let it ride. This year my liability is almost $4000 and I would really like to use the $2000 credit. Any help?

If TurboTax didn't carry your balance forward to this year's return, then you can enter it manually in Home & Business by clicking the Personal tab, then Deductions & Credits, then under the Your Home heading select Home Energy Credits.

The first question you'll be asked is Did you make energy-saving improvements in 2016 or have a carry forward from 2015? and you'll check "yes."  Then you'll be asked about your living arrangements.

The next screen will say Energy saving improvements for your home and you'll select "no, my home is not in the US" which will end the questions about adding new improvements.  The next screen will then ask Do you have a 2015 home energy credit to carry forward? and you'll answer "yes."

You'll then be shown an input box saying Enter your 2015 energy credit carry forward.  That's the spot.
