My wagess were being garnished for student loans and now I am unemployeed. Is there a way to keep my state taxes?

I knew that the IRS was going to take all my taxes this year, and I was ok with that until I lost my job. Now that have all my information together to finish my State taxes I am wondering if there is anyway to keep my State refund? And if possible, can I get my Fed. refund back?

There is no way to get your federal refund back. If your debt has been turned over to your state for collection, there is no way to protect that.
