How do I duduct expenses from my form 1099 misc income from self employment?

You need to use Turbo Tax Self Employed (online) or Turbo Tax Home and Business (desktop) to complete your tax return.

If your 1099-MISC designates income in box #7, the IRS considers you to be self-employed thus requiring you to file a Schedule C, business income and expenses. To claim your business expenses, you will need to upgrade to TurboTax Self Employed        To report your business expense in TurboTax Self Employed:Type in business expenses in the search box, top right of your screenClick on first category Jump to business expenses Follow the prompts and online instructionsArrive at the Your Business pageScroll down to the Business Expenses category in which you will see the following: Business Vehicle Expense (where you will enter your vehicle/mileage deductions)Other Common Business Expenses (a number of your expenses may be entered here)Home Office Expense
