If the taxes were paid in 2016, you can add these real estate taxes as to your other real estate taxes as an itemized deduction. To enter these taxes into TurboTax, follow this path in the program:

  1. Click on Federal Taxes TAB
  2. Click on the Deductions and Credits SubTAB.
  3. Choose the option "I'll choose what I work on".
  4. Find the section labeled "Your Home".
  5. Click start or update on the line labeled Property Taxes.
  6. Enter the taxes as part of the taxes figure for Your Main home or on the line for Additional Homes or Land.
