Yes, if you provide over 50% of their care.  To verify with certainty, please visit the IRS site; Who Can I Claim As A Dependent.  Once on the site you will complete an interactive anonymous questionnaire which will let you know if they are your dependent.  In regards to their social security, if $5000 / year, it will not be taxed.  Please use the Turbo Tax FAQ video for more information.
