This is the expected result. During a print review your bank account information is intentionally masked for security purposes. Depending on how you select to print from within the Turbotax product will determine if your bank account information is masked. Note:
If you eFile your return the full (unmasked) bank account information will get sent to the IRS.
If you file your taxes by printing and mailing your return to the IRS then the full (unmasked) bank account information will also get printed out.
If you are printing the return for your own records the bank account information will be masked.

The TurboTax product does not explicitly say if you don't need to file a return for a given state. Please see the link below to confirm if you need to file a return in Montana.

Proposed work around: There is an option to type in your information manually with in TurboTax. Choose the option "I will type it myself" to skip the automated import. This will require that you to first go to the E*Trade site, download the relevant PDFs and come back in to TurboTax to enter the data manually. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The $5.00 amount due may have been for your State Tax return. You can follow the instructions below to preview the amount due for your State Taxes. If you do owe an amount, the preview of your State Tax return will show you how much is owed, how to complete your State Tax return and were to send your payment.

The answer depends on which person filed the tax return first.
Scenario 1:
If the wife filed the return first as married filed jointly, the husbands return which was filed AFTER will get rejected. In this scenario no additional action should be required as your return will be filed Married Filed Jointly.
Scenario 2:
If the husband filed first as married filed separately, and then the wife filed as Married Filed Jointly both returns will get rejected. When that happens you should only file the return for married filed jointly.
