If you receive Social Security benefits and entered your Part B premiums as part of the SSA-1099 data in the Income section, Turbo Tax will transfer that medical expense info automatically to your itemized deductions and thus increase your medical expenses compared to what you enter as medical expense deductions.
The medical mileage deduction is $0.22 per mile. You would enter the total number of miles driven for medical purposes, lodging expenses (up to $50 per day) related to medical care, and other transportation expenses used to get to a medical provider.
If you are seeing a discrepancy in this section of your return, please provide more details so someone can try to help you determine the cause.
