Why do you need a credit card for the free edition

It is possible that you may have added an add-on that required an upgrade or an extra charge. 

To see what you are being charged for, please follow the instructions in this FAQ

As long as you haven't paid, or deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, follow the directions in this FAQ to remove all unwanted add-ons.
