Why did my return instantly go down after reviewing 2 year old information that Turbotax previously said was good?

I entered my federal/state return information and Turbotax accepted it and said it all looked good. However, when it did the final completion check at the end, it said that my federal return information actually needed to be reviewed. It brought me to a page where it was asking me to review my tax return from TWO YEARS ago. When I did so, I noticed my state and federal return amounts dropped by a total of about $500. This doesn't make any sense to me because I thought that money had already been taxed and I make so little money it doesn't seem possible that I would owe nearly that much in addition to what was withheld from my paycheck. What happened? How do I fix this?

Please tell us the context of reviewing this tax data from two years ago.
